Alisdair is originally from Perth, Western Australia and after completing his final semester of his degree abroad, he found himself washing cars and picking grapes with a tertiary education! He could not find a graduate role anywhere but that didn’t stop him, he had the tenacity and drive to make it work and enrolled in a finance planning diploma. He then knocked on doors until eventually one firm let him come and make cups of tea and summarise financial documents for them.
From there he got himself a job in a boutique financial planning firm and a year later he found a job in Sydney and relocated. After 18 months he ended up in one of Australia’s largest banks and that's when things really got interesting.
After nearly 10 years Alisdair was determined to make a difference in people (and businesses) lives so he left his cushy corporate career and embarked on the journey of Grad Mentor to where we are with Striver.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 2016, Wayne was employed at the Royal Bank of Canada where he was responsible for equity research coverage of the Australian Oil and Gas sector.

Russ Hanlon

With 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry, primarily working within the delivery of advice and superannuation solutions throughout his career.
He has held a number of senior positions including National Manager Corporate Superannuation at Suncorp Life Ltd, National Client Service Manager at Sunsuper and State Manager Queensland at Equity Trustees Ltd.
Russell has a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from Queensland University of Technology with post graduate studies at Macquarie University as well as being a qualified Financial Planner.
Russell has experience as a committee member on ASFA’s QLD Executive Advisory Committee.


Samantha Hawkins

Samantha has worked in Financial Services throughout her whole career, including as a Certified Financial Planner for 21 years.
Samantha transitioned into a Business Development role with Praemium in 2016, becoming a Regional Manager for the company in 2018.
Samantha is also a Responsible Manager on the Praemium licence.
Samantha’s work experience included a senior role within a planning practice with the responsibility for Practice Management, Compliance, Recruitment and Training of all staff.

Greg Liddell

Prior to joining Betashares, Greg was the Executive Manager Investment Sustainability at Suncorp where he drafted the first Responsible Investment Policy for the Suncorp Group and was responsible for implementation all aspects of responsible investment, including integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues into manager selection and monitoring, impact investing, proxy voting, engagement and exclusions.
Greg was a member of Suncorp’s Climate Change Action Plan Working Group and was heavily involved in setting Suncorp’s strategy for the management of the risks and opportunities associated with climate change.
Prior to Suncorp, Greg held roles at the Centre for International Financial Research and the Investor Group on Climate Change. He was the Director of Consulting & Advisory Services at Russell Investments and the Director of Implemented Equities at QIC.
Greg spent 10 years at Mercer Investment Consulting as a consultant and the Head of Manager Research for Australian & New Zealand.

Alexandre Ventelon

Since arriving at Morgan Stanley, he has developed Wealth Management’s multi-asset investment approach which was recognized by the Institute of Managed Account Professionals (IMAP) as the winner in the 2020 and 2021 Licensee Managed Account category, and the 2021Multi Asset Class category.
Alexandre is primarily responsible for producing investment strategy research and providing implementation advice across listed Equities, Managed Funds and ETFs to Morgan Stanley's advisors and their clients.
Alexandre has more than 15 years of investment management experience, in both wealth and institutional money management. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 2017, Alexandre spent four years with AustralianSuper as an Investment Strategist; and six years as a Multi-Asset Portfolio Manager with Credit Suisse in Europe, Asia and Australia.

Andrew has recently been appointed to the role of CEO for DASH which is newly formed from the merger of WealthO2 with financial planning software firm, Roar Software and wealth platform software specialist, NEO.
Andrew joined WealthO2 in January 2021 and in mid 2021 became acting CEO.
Prior to WealthO2 he was head of distribution with Midwinter and has held senior positions with Milliman and Morningstar.

Toby has championed IMAP's mission for a number of years and is a key contributor for IMAP (along with others) in the representation to ASIC on recent changes to the MDA regulations and ongoing regulatory matters.
His experience in the wider investments market is extensive and his advice and experience is frequently sought after for his breadth and detail, plus his knowledge of the people in the industry.
His working experience includes key roles for NAB, IOOF, Morningstar, Managed Accounts, SFG Australia


Jenny Phimleut
IMAP Program Director
Jenny manages IMAP's program of conference events, webinars and publication, and liaises with sponsors, speakers
Jenny supports and organises IMAP special interest groups i.e. The Regulatory Group, and the Data Standards Group, and works closely with Toby, David and the IMAP team.
She is responsible for maintaining IMAP's digital presence, as well processes and policies as well as developing promotional material.

David's role is focused on working to develop a community of interest among the professionals responsible for portfolio management of managed account programs.
He has 30+ years’ experience in financial markets. He has worked as an economist, investment strategist, and has extensive experience in equity portfolio management and analysis. He was previously the Chief Investment Strategist for Credit Suisse Private Banking in Australia.
He has worked in institutional asset management and private wealth in Australia and the UK, & started his career as an economist with the Australian government.
David holds a Bachelor of Economics and a Graduate Diploma in Economics (honours) from the Australian National University. He is a CFA Charter holder and holds the Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement designation
